FIRST SERVICE
After many months of preparation and work, the congregations of St Mary’s & Old, Teviot & Roberton and Trinity Churches, Hawick, united to become Hawick South with the Rev Alistair Cook as their minister.
The first service of the united congregation took place on September 1 with around 100 people present. A cake was cut by the joint Session Clerks, Anne Adams and Gael Nuttall (pictured with Mr Cook). The Presbytery Service of Union held on Sunday September 23 was led by the Moderator of Lothian & Borders Presbytery, the Rev Lorna Souter and the Rev Norman Smith, Presbytery Clerk.
