EASTER SUNDAY CELEBRATIONS
Easter Sunday has become a traditional day for churches to welcome new members, and this year was no exception.
Newarthill and Carfin Parish Church of Scotland welcomed two new members by Profession of Faith on Easter Sunday. Lindsey Haggart and Steven Ramage are pictured with locum, Jim Paxton.
At Glengarry Parish Church, John and Karen Henshall were both confirmed and admitted. They are pictured with the Rev Anthony Jones.
Barrhead St Andrew’s Parish Church baptised four people and welcomed a total of 17 new people into the church family as members. The church borrowed a portable baptistry from Perth North Church for the occasion, and minister the Rev Tim Mineard was able to baptise three people by full immersion and one from the font. The 17 new members include three Ukrainians, several Nigerian families and a couple from Hong Kong who have been attending the church over the past year.
At the family Communion Service at Fort Augustus Parish Church, six new members were admitted in the Confirmation service and four more who transferred their membership from other churches. They are pictured with the Rev Anthony Jones and session clerk Catherine Fraser.
Perth Kinnoull Parish Church admitted three young people, ordained and admitted a new elder and awarded 30 years’ long service certificates to two others. A third will be presented at a later date.
