LONG SERVICE

1 Eighteen elders of Alloway and Fisherton Parish Church were presented with long service certificates at their Christmas Jumper service on December 8.

2 Six elders have been presented with long service certificates at Portpatrick Parish Church, in the Presbytery of the South West. William McMiken (treasurer) and David Maxwell (session clerk) were each recognised for 50 years’ service, while Dorothy Murray, Mary Gibson, Edna Walker and Fiona Maxwell have served for 30 years. The certificates were presented by the Rev Stephen Ogston.

3 At the recent Communion Service, four elders of Forest Kirk, Carluke received long service certificates. Chris Shanks, Ruby Mitchel, Jean Battison and Janice Webster are pictured with their minister the Rev Dr Elijah Obinna.

4 Alexander Burgess of Lochgoilhead Church in Argyll was presented with a long service certificate marking 60 years in the eldership. The presentation, which also included a rose named ‘Lady Sylvia’ after Mr Burgess’s late wife, was made by the Rev Dr Robin Mackenzie during his final service before retirement.
