There is a website called Listed Places of Worship (LPW) which will assist you in recovering the VAT on essential repairs to your church building.

We have been using this website for some years and have reclaimed many thousands of pounds in VAT. Recently we paid some £300,000 for repairs and received some £50,000 in VAT.

It is simple to use and you normally receive the refund within days of submitting the invoice(s) detailing the amount of VAT paid.
