GARDEN TWINNING
At a recent post service lunch, Tranent Parish Church in East Lothian raised over £480 to twin their church garden with gardens in rural Africa, through the charity Ripple Effect.
As well as a letter of thanks, a plaque was received which will be displayed at the garden.
Families in the six countries where Ripple Effect works are struggling to grow enough to eat as the climate crisis worsens and they experience longer periods of drought and heavy rainfall.
The twinning will help farming families with three years’ training in sustainable organic farming.
