Working for peace
The Scots Kirk in Lausanne was recently visited by two fathers, one Palestinian and one Israeli, who have both lost a daughter to the ongoing violence in their homeland.
Bassam Aramin and Rami Elhanan are both members of the Parents Circle – Families Forum, a joint Israeli-Palestinian organisation of over 700 families, which promotes reconciliation through education, public meetings and the media.
Bassam and Rami have devoted their lives to keeping their daughters alive through their stories, and giving meaning to their deaths by working for peace in Palestine/Israel. Rami and Bassam spent a total of three days in the Lausanne area, and the Scots Kirk Lausanne hosted them on their last evening.
