Church Tribute
Towie Church in Aberdeenshire closed in October 2024 and I am writing to share a poem about the church with readers.
Since the beginning of time On this sacred space:
Bread broken, wine shared Snowflakes on stones Star shine on river Wind through the trees Rooks calling Lambs on the hillside Light through lancet windows An open door An outstretched hand of fellowship clasped warm Footfall on paths trodden through time A laugh, a sigh, a bride’s tear, a shared grief A feather, an angel’s wing A legacy left.
