Long service
Thirteen elders have been awarded certificates of Long Service at Motherwell South Parish Church. The presentation took place during the worship service with each Elder receiving a certificate signed by the Moderator of the General Assembly, the Rt Rev Dr Shaw Paterson. In total, the 13 elders have amassed 495 years of service.
Ronnie Irving has been presented with a long service certificate marking 40 years as an Elder at Stranraer Parish Church. Ronnie has served on property and fabric committees, and is a very dedicated District Elder, paying particular attention to the residents of Thorneycroft Care Home in his district. He is pictured with the Rev Andy Muir.
Four elders of Lammermuir Church, East Lothian, have received long service certificates. Bill Swan (retired property convener, 50 years), Percy Craigie (43), Jim McDougal (40) and Paul Sales (33) are pictured with the Rev Anikó Schütz Bradwell.
A special service was held in Auchtermuchty Church to recognise and appreciate the many years of dedication given by the elders in Edenshead Parish. Current and retired elders received a Certificate of Service, and worship was led by Kay and Rod McCall, who themselves received their certificates. On October 1, the church became part of a new united Fife: Eden Tay Parish.
