Freuchie Parish Church came together on Sunday April 21 to celebrate over 65 years of service of Sandy Falconer as a church organist.
At the special service to celebrate Sandy’s long and continuing ministry of music, the Rev Ian Hamilton presented him with a long service certificate. Sandy began his musical career as organist and choirmaster at the age of 16 in 1958 at the Barony Church in Alyth, and has played on significantly more than 3,000 Sundays, sometimes for several services a day.
Sandy currently serves at Freuchie Parish Church and is still passionate about musical worship. He has recently re-formed the church choir following the Covid-19 pandemic and has supported Freuchie to get a new organ.
