Jim Melrose has been presented with a certificate recognising 81 years of singing in the choirs of the Church of Scotland in Galashiels, in the Borders. Jim joined the junior choir of the former East Church during the Second World War and remembers going to practices under blackout and singing at the Peel Hospital Forces service on Sunday evenings. He progressed to the seniors and has stayed in the choir through multiple unions into what is now Trinity Church.
