Coffee morning runs for 50 years

St Leonard’s in the Fields Church in Perth, has been holding an annual coffee morning on the first Saturday in March, every year for around 50 years.

This year’s event, on March 2, raised £850 for church funds.

Elders ordained

Three new elders have been ordained in St Andrew’s Wallace Green & Lowick Church, Berwick-upon-Tweed. Keith Montgomery, Joan Montgomery and Rena Telfer are pictured with the Rev Dr Adam Hood.

CrossReach visit

Duntocher Trinity Church Guild held a visit to CrossReach’s Waterfront Campus in Erskine. The campus supports 36 children aged from 8 to 18 with additional support needs. The Guild members were shown around by Kyle Fleming, head of education.

Long service

Twelve members of the congregation at Carnock and Oakley Parish Church in Fife received certificates for service exceeding 30 years, from locum minister, the Rev Elizabeth Kenny, at a special service held at Oakley Church on Sunday February 18. New union

The Presbytery of Perth marked the new union of Carnoustie: Trinity Church of Scotland, formed from the congregations of Barry Parish Church, Carnoustie Church, and Carnoustie: Panbride Church.

The new team ministry of the Rev Annette Gordon and the Rev Mike Goss was also introduced. Annette was ordained and inducted to Carnoustie: Panbride in 2017, and Mike was inducted to Barry linked with Carnoustie in 2003.

Following the union, elders who had served on the Kirk Sessions of Barry and Carnoustie congregations were presented with Certificates of Long Service and Certificates of Appreciation.

Certificates of Long Service were presented for those who had served for more than 30 years signed by the Moderator of the General Assembly; others were given a local Certificate of Appreciation.
