It would be sad if the controversy over Captain Tom Moore’s legacy were to eclipse the wisdom shown in his ‘Tomorrow will be a Good Day’.
As a preacher I have resonated particularly with his vision of Heaven, which he gives on the final page of the book. Here, in a non-frightening and ‘down to earth’ way, he imagines how things will be at our passing.
He writes: ‘I have often thought that when I die all the people I loved the most will be waiting for me.’ And so it goes on, with mention – among others – of his Father, Mother and wife, Pamela.
Those of us getting on a bit may find this passage to be particularly heartening.
