FORGIVE

Why Should I and How Can I

Published by: Hodder & Stoughton Price: £10.99

Keller, the pastor of Redeemer Presbyterian Church in New York and the church-planting enterprise Redeemer City to City, died in May 2023, shortly after the publication of this work in hardback, the latest in a line of best-selling works, particularly in the USA.

The book was subsequently released in paperback in October and tackles the thorny question: why should we forgive those who hurt or wrong us.

In his last work he offers not just a theological basis for the act of forgiveness, but highlights the impact and importance of forgiving and granting forgiveness within wider society and culture and its value.

Comprising eleven chapters and an epilogue, the book is woven into three sections covering the themes of losing and finding forgiveness, understanding forgiveness and practising forgiveness.

Chapters also include a history of forgiveness, the basics of forgiveness and reflect on our need for forgiveness, while also pointing to how to receive God’s forgiveness, grant forgiveness and extend forgiveness.

Appendices offer helpful practical pointers to scripture reflecting what the bible says about forgiveness and also offers principles and practices and pointers to reconciliation.
