Graham Appeal
Almost seventy years ago, Billy Graham led the All Scotland Crusade at the Kelvin Hall in Glasgow.
More than one million people attended the campaign and more than 26,000 children, young people, men and women responded to his altar call invitation to be ‘born again.’
I have begun to examine this crusade in order to highlight its significance within our church history in Scotland. As part of my research, I want to undertake an oral history project. To this end, I write to seek your help.
I would like to make contact with anyone who attended any of the meetings Billy Graham led during the All Scotland Crusade, and ask if you would be willing to meet me for a conversation about your memories of the campaign. I am very interested to discover the lived experiences of those who attended the crusade, whether they responded to the altar call or not. I would be happy to meet you wherever it was most convenient, or to have our conversation via the telephone or online. If you prefer to remain anonymous and not have your name attached to the conversation, then that is fine too.
I would be most grateful, therefore, if you would spread the word about my research, and I would be delighted to hear from anyone who is able and willing to assist. It is important that we tell our history faithfully and well, and this is why I need your help, please.
