Tony Crow’s letter says it all in the heading -Confidence in Scripture. Surely even those of us who cast doubt on literal meanings or ask questions about the way the Scriptures have been edited or arranged can still have confidence that they convey spiritual truth and are “profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness”. I suspect confidence is not the issue here but rather the acceptance of the literal truth of the words, and this is an entirely different matter!
The thought with which Tony leaves us will not settle arguments either. The interpretation I claim that Jesus has given me may well differ from the one you claim he has given you. Frank Ribbons (Rev), Aboyne
