Recognition of service
With the creation of larger presbyteries, the Rev John Russell’s time as Clerk to the Presbytery of Dunkeld & Meigle came to an end on December 31 after 21 years in the post.
John was originally ordained in Ontario, Canada, and served as minister of the Scots Kirk in Rotterdam, Southend in Argyll and Tillicoultry. He also served as Convener of the Board of National Mission and the Unions & Readjustments Committee of the General Assembly. When he retired to Dunkeld he was appointed Presbytery Clerk in 2001.
In recognition of his service to the Presbytery a presentation was made at a Presbytery dinner in Dunkeld, marking the end of the Presbytery of Dunkeld & Meigle.
John is pictured with his wife Sheila, with whom he celebrated their 60th anniversary on January 3.
