A GIFT OF JOY AND HOPE
Written by: Pope Francis
Published by: Hodder & Stoughton Price: £16.99
Written in response to the losses faced by the world during the Covid-19 pandemic, Pope Francis was inspired to write his third book to encourage people to find hope and meaning in God.
The premise of the book is to find the hand of Jesus in service and to focus less on self-obsession and immersion in personal disappointment and sadness to discover ‘the greatest and truest reality of life: Jesus lives. Jesus loves me. I can do something for others. This is the greatest reality – beautiful, positive and bright! This is the u-turn we need to make… we need to go from if to yes.’
The hardback is divided into nine chapters which brings together collective thoughts on a wide range of subjects – all seeking to inspire and encourage readers to serve and find joy , even during times of profound sadness and darkness.
