On Sunday January 8 alarge congregation gathered at St Leonard’s Church, Dunfermline, joined by others remotely, when the whole service was dedicated to the admission of a new church member, ordination of six new elders, and recognition of two elders who had served over 30 years. The hymns and readings were chosen by the six new elders, each announcing the reason why their hymn or reading was important to them. Each of the nine people being recognised was given a certificate and a card with a personal message and welcome from the church. The service was led by interim moderator the Rev Muriel Willoughby, and locum the Rev Margaret Mateos.
