LONG SERVICE RECOGNISED AS CHURCH CLOSES

A sad occasion at Twechar Parish Church, Dunbartonshire, was given a joyful note as two elders and the treasurer received long service certificates at the final service in the church.

Donald Smith was recognised for 50 years’ service as treasurer, John Gray for 40 years as elder and Gena Whyte for 30 years, also as elder. They are pictured with Gordon McInally, locum minister at Twechar for nine years, organist Heather MacDonald who had served the congregation for many years and who was presented with a bouquet of flowers, and Peter White, a former interim moderator who celebrated Communion at the final service.
