OVER 1000 YEARS CELEBRATED

On Sunday June 5, Galston Parish Church in East Ayrshire marked the Platinum Jubilee celebrations with the awarding of long service certificates to Elders, Sunday Club teachers and Choir members. The elders are: Andrew Cowan, John Miller, David Gemmell and Robert Murray (50 years); Tom Smith (40); Jack Adams, Alistair Cunningham, David Gray, Robert Lynch, Jim Davidson (also on the property committee) and John Yeudall (30).

Robert Murray was also marking his retirement, after 30 years, as Session Clerk.

Sunday Club teachers: Marian Ayre (50) and Anna Mathieson (40).

Choir members Cathie Houston and Anna Taylor both celebrated their platinum service, and Helen Haigh and Jim Mair (60), Maud Denham (50), June Ramsay, Jean Simpson, Marilyn Thomson and Anna Yeudall (40), Marie Beattie and Margaret Gorman (30).

In total over 1,000 years of faithful service to Galston Parish Church was recognised and members of the congregation joined in the celebratory buffet lunch following on the service.
