COMMUNITY RADIO OUTREACH
Avendale and Drumclog Church, in Strathaven in South Lanarkshire, are hugely excited about their involvement with the new Avondale Radio.
This community radio station – run in Strathaven ‘by the community, for the community’, launched in the second week in March. It is run by volunteers from the town showcasing a variety of music and talk.
Two church elders, Angus and Murray, have ‘got in on the ground floor’ to present a weekly hour long show of contemporary Christian music and chat. The show has been called Crossbeats and includes a short spiritual thought by the minister, the Rev Calum Stark. The church sees this as a great way to be church without walls and are actively inviting folks from within the community to tune in.
The programme is live every Wednesday at 3-4pm, online at www.avondaleradio. com and soon also in catch-up.
