KNITTED NATIVITIES
The ladies of the four churches in Auchterarder, in Perth and Kinross, came together last autumn with a view to creating a knitted nativity set. It was initially planned to knit one set to go round each church in turn, however the ladies got on so well that they decided each church would have its own nativity set and everyone would help each other.
As well as the sets in the church, one set was used for a Nativity trail for children to follow round the village. Shops and cafes were asked to put a nativity figure in their windows, alongside posters with QR codes for the children to scan and hear the story of that particular figure. Many Marys with baby Jesus were knitted and these were given out as prizes.
