In an effort to reconnect with the local community, Colinton Parish Church in Edinburgh came up with the idea of creating Colinton Christmas Angels. In the run-up to Christmas, the church invited community groups and individuals of all ages to make, draw, knit, paint, crochet or sew angels and display them on their windows, fences, gateposts or school railings. This was also an opportunity to remember loved ones and friends at a special time of year.
