MAGNIFICENT SEVEN

The ‘Magnificent Seven’ from Alloway Parish Church raised over £13,000 for their Christian Aid ‘Hunger Appeal’ at September’s Kiltwalk.

They were among 4000 people who stepped out to raise funds for 500 charities.

Alloway’s minister, the Rev Neil McNaught, said: “Once again we are so indebted to our church family and friends for generously supporting us.

“Sir Tom Hunter also deserves great praise for his commitment to assisting good causes. So too the Kiltwalk organisation and sponsors added another 50%. Thus our £6,605 became £13,210!

“Harvest time is a great time to remember and help some of the poorest of the world and Christian Aid does just that. This help will be directed to Afghanistan South Sudan and Ethiopia where the need is acute.”

He added: “We were so glad on the day it was neither too wet nor windy!”
