Larbert East Church said goodbye, after nearly 26 years, to the Rev Melville and Irene Crosthwaite with music from the choir and young church, and a collection of carefully chosen gifts: a bee house for their new garden, a clock featuring one of the church’s stained-glass windows, a quilt showing the organisations of the church, stitched by the Banner Group over two years, and books of memories from the young church and wider congregation. In addition, a generous cheque from members was handed over by Kelvin Cairns, who had chaired the vacancy committee which brought Melville to Larbert East in 1995.
