HOMELESS JESUS STATUE UNVEILED
A statue depicting Jesus as a homeless man was unveiled in Kilmarnock in March.
Local artist and sculptor George Duff, who donated his interpretation of the Homeless Jesus statue, is pictured unveiling the sculpture with the Rev David Cameron, Minister of New Laigh Kirk.
The original Homeless Jesus sculpture was created by the Canadian sculptor Timothy Schmalz, and now has 101 replicas in prominent urban locations around the world. The sculpture shows a person lying on a bench under a blanket, but the feet – the only visible part of the body – are bearing the marks from being pierced by nails.
Mr Cameron said “We’re delighted to have this interpretation of a universal piece of art located in such a prominent position in the town.”
