‘Buildings matter’ debate

I wholeheartedly agree with all of the Rev Mary Morrison’s letter (Life and Work, February 2021 Letters) regarding church buildings, particularly her reference that “people need somewhere to meet”.

Technology can never replace meeting with people, nor provide the tranquillity that we experience in a church building.

We are an ageing congregation in Corby, and most of us have been communicating by telephone, and everyone says how much they miss not being able to be in the building.

I know there are those who think “online” is the way forward, but I hope, like the Rev Morrison, that we can keep as many church buildings as possible open, so that we can physically meet and worship together.
