Remembrance 2020
Coronavirus restrictions may have limited Remembrance commemorations this year, but they did not prevent churches throughout Scotland from marking the season with the customary spectacular and moving poppy displays.
New Parish Church, Glasgow
Eaglesham Parish Church, East Renfrewshire. The Knitting and Crochet Group created a poppy display extending over the wall of the church and into the garden of the attached cottage.
Duntocher Trinity Parish Church, Clydebank
Castle Douglas Parish Church, Dumfries and Galloway.
Northesk Church, Musselburgh, East Lothian
Cumbernauld Old Parish Church, North Lanarkshire
Banff Parish Church, Aberdeenshire. A cross was created in the church grounds with the silhouette of a soldier standing guard. Members of the congregation, the local primary school, the Boys’ Brigade and passers-by were invited to leave a poppy, painted stone or cross.
Tribute at the War Memorial of St Monans Old Kirk, Fife, by the children of the school and nursery.
