SPECIAL EDITION OF REAL ADVENT CALENDAR FOR 2020

A special edition of the Real Advent Calendar has been produced this year, as Christians prepare to celebrate Christmas against the backdrop of the coronavirus pandemic.

The calendar, which has now been produced for 10 years, contains 25 fairtrade chocolates, tells the Christmas story through a special booklet, and includes a donation to charity.

This year’s edition comes complete with rainbow markings and a new Christmas story activity book In an email to supporters in September, David Marshall, CEO of the Meaningful Chocolate Company, wrote: “As autumn approaches and the situation around a possible second wave of the virus remains unclear, it might be tempting to ‘cancel’ Christmas. But I believe it is more important than ever that we find ways to share the Christmas story and support Fairtrade. “Because of the uncertainty this year we need you to buy now or to start planning to buy for Christmas early. I realise this is unusual but production across the UK is going to be limited this year.”

You can order calendars by the case or singly from the website, and also have calendars and other items from the 2020 range sent directly by post. There is also the opportunity to sponsor advent calendars donations to foodbanks, either singly or by the pallet.
