400 YEARS OF SERVICE
Over 400 years of service was celebrated at Prestwick South Parish Church in March in the last Sunday service before the Coronavirus Covid-19 lockdown.
A Day of Celebration took place at the Church on Sunday March 15 when 11 elders were presented with long service certificates, including father and daughter Jack McCormack and Jean Dunlop. Jack completed 64 years and his daughter 33 years of service. Each elder received a certificate signed by the Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland.
Four new elders were also ordained at the service, including David Elliott, the son of minister, the Rev Kenneth Elliott. Pictured are the elders who have clocked up more than 400 years of service: Jack McCormack (64 years), Alan Moir (43 years), Willie Irvine (41 years), Frank McQuade (37 years), Wilma Goodwin (33 years), Allan Kerr (51 years), Ann Green (33 years), John Park (32 years), Jean Dunlop (33 years), Margaret Bingham (33 years) and Andy Mitchell (37 years)
