SIX MINISTERS AWARDED DOCTORATES FROM PITTSBURGH

In June of this year six Church of Scotland ministers were awarded their Doctor of Ministry (Reformed Focus) at the 222nd Commencement of Pittsburgh Theological Seminary. The doctoral programme was run as a partnership between the University of Edinburgh and Pittsburgh Theological Seminary and involved two residential stays in Edinburgh and Pittsburgh as well as the production of a final project and thesis. The Doctor of Ministry programme was designed to enable theological reflection on the practice of ministry from within the Reformed tradition, and particularly in the local ministerial context.

The graduates were joined by family and friends in Pittsburgh and the ceremony was streamed live on the internet for those who could not be there. It is hoped that the University of Edinburgh and Pittsburgh Theological Seminary will offer a further Doctor of Ministry programme to a fresh cohort in the coming year. Anyone interested in applying should contact Dr Alison Jack at New College on a.jack@ed.ac.uk
