PRAYER
Living God, I call on you as summer comes.
A time of emptying the clutter of life,
Giving room to breathe again.
Life seems so cluttered -we ill the hours of our days with activity, noise and pressure, expectations and demands, a litany of stressors … obligations…deadlines and more.
Crowded, pressed and overwhelmed at times the busyness.
the rushing and frenzy.
the growing anxieties.
I empty all of this out before You.
In the emptying, I trust You for Your faithfulness,
Your steadfast mercy, love and grace towards me.
I stop.
I pause.
I dare to wait.
You set my feet in a broad, roomy, expansive place.
You give me room to breathe.
You grant me space… to be,
And to feel alive and fully human.
I take a breath thankful for days to come up for air, to relect and rediscover, to breathe deeply, to be refreshed and rejuvenated,
renewed and replenished
in body, mind and spirit.
Thankful for time to unwind and be with family and friends.
To live life at a diferent pace.
Humbled and hopeful,
I recognise there is much I need to shed,
as well as things I need to cherish and hold more dearly.
Thank You for Your blessings of summer
This emptying time.
This room to breathe.
AMEN
