PRAYER
God of creation,
we rejoice in the glory of the world you have made.
We give thanks for opportunities we have
to spend time being in,
looking at,
learning from
the work of your hand.
Our world is filled with beauty.
Help us use all our senses to meet you through that beauty,
drawing closer to you as we rejoice in what we see and hear;
reflecting on the way we touch your creation,
and allow your creation to touch us;
letting you in,
and rejoicing in the experience of allowing you deep into our souls
as we offer you our time and attention.
We encounter you in the hills.
Through the joy of exploring them,
in the wonder of simply opening our eyes to see them,
we learn so much about you,
God of the hills.
The way the changing light,
the rolling of day and night,
sun and cloud
helps us see differently,
recognising other aspects,
seeing different perspectives of what we thought we knew so well.
Realising that, as we explore the ground,
whether we are in the valleys between the hills,
in the long flats,
on the top with wondrous views,
or on the hillside moving up or down,
seeking the best routes,
overcoming difficult ground,
God of the hills, you are with us,
as you are with us in the journey of our lives.
In the flat times of valleys,
in the routine ‘plain’ days,
in the days of true vision atop the hills
as we slide or freefall downhill,
as we face uphill struggles,
God of the hills of life, you are with us.
Give us openness and faith to place our hand in yours, to make you our
companion for every step.
All praise to you, God of the hills.
Amen
