The setting sun casts its shadow,
Painting an evening landscape
With lingering colours.
This day, O God, has been your gift.
In these twilight moments,
Let me pause…..
Let me recall how this day began,
And how the hours unfolded.
Let me remember all I embraced,
And call to mind the regrets I hold….
Eternal One,
your grace is given each day and night.
In this time of contemplation,
Guide me to your light.
Even as the sun sets here,
Another day is breaking -
Soon to be your gift.
New every morning
Is your faithfulness.
All time, O God
Is in your hands.
Help me to rest in your peace,
And receive your promises.
For I will awake with you my God,
And in Christ I claim
Fullness of life.
Let your Spirit live and breathe in me,
My Creator, my Maker,
Great Inspirer,
God.
I remember you are my strength.
As I breathe in and out,
You fill me with your hope,
and take from me any distress.
Release in me a new song of praise.
God,
I thank you for your daily gifts.
The blessing of life,
The rising of Christ
The company of the Spirit.
Always.
