‘ADVENTURE OF FAITH’
A new twinning arrangement between congregations in West Lothian and South Lanarkshire has been cemented by a series of joint events during the partnership’s first year.
The ministers and session clerks of Kirk of Calder in Mid Calder and Chalmers Parish Church in Larkhall signed a twinning covenant in October, committing both churches to ‘Enter into equal relationships in terms of Faith, Fellowship and Friendship.’
Teams from both churches (pictured) were invited to meet and make plans.
The two congregations swapped ministers on Sunday February 26 and a ‘Twinning’s Got Talent’ social event is planned for early summer at Chalmers Parish Church.
Chalmers minister, the Rev Andrea Boyes and Kirk of Calder minister, the Rev John
Povey have welcomed the new partnership, saying: “Twinning our churches brings a commitment to share our gifts, encourage one another and serve in the love of Jesus. It is an adventure of faith together.”
