Before the beginning, before God began birthing the heavens and the earth, hidden in the Soul of the Sacred, deep within the Depthless Dark, in Eternity’s emptiness, the exploding and ever-expanding cosmos was conceived in the Father’s womb; the cosmic egg formed, evolved, cracked; beyond all understanding, from cavernous silence and darkness, new life emerged.

In the tiniest fraction of time, in a trillion trillionth of a second, God’s firstborn, Wisdom’s artfulness: a universe unimaginable. Over the face of the deep, the Spirit of the Sacred swept, unfolding in secret the origins of homo sapiens; of me, of Jesus.
In humanity’s history, in the mystical vision of Abraham, of Moses and Elijah, in the womb of Mary in the soul of her Child, the Shekinah, the Presence, Divine glory, shone lucent, dazzling: Light only the blind can see.
Before the women arrived, before the angel spoke, before the stone was moved, in the silence of the sepulchre, in the airless dark of the cave, hidden from all but the Holy One, new life was born, an empty tomb the gate of heaven.
Today new life is born in me. Hidden within my depthless dark, in the silence of my soul, the Sacred is reborn, the Spirit of the Risen Christ rises once again. May I know the Spirit of Jesus within me, hear His voice call me by name, touch His crucified feet, receive from His hands bread broken, the sacrament of forgiveness.
Gather us in, God’s rainbow people: every child of Adam, every face Divine; in eloquent silence Spirit speaks in every tongue Holiness beats in every heart, Mystery is named in every sacred story.
Holy God, sprinkle afresh drops of Your Spirit’s love upon me; sanctify me. I am in You, and You are in me.
