Most Advent calendars start full and then empty as it gets closer to Christmas, but this year the congregation of Broom Parish Church decided to do it in reverse.

Each member of the congregation was given an empty ‘Advent calendar’ bag donated by the local Co-op and asked to donate an item of food each day for the first 10 days of December. The proceeds were given to the East Renfrewshire Foodbank.
