Six members of 17th Ayr Boys’ Brigade received their Queen’s Badges during a service of dedication at Castlehill Parish Church.
David Houston, Darren Morrison, Jack McDougall, Rory McNeil, Craig Reid and Angus Stuart joined the previous 73 recipients of the Badge since the Company was formed in 1959.
After the service, the boys served up a soup and sweet lunch which raised £350 to go towards a trip to Romania next year. The company has a 10-year association with the Rhema Foundation, which helps abandoned children living with HIV/AIDS. They previous visited in 2011 and 2013.
Representatives of the Foundation were at the service along with some Romanian friends.
